Mick Green began studying jazz in London between 1965 - 1972, playing in various bands. He also played in the BBC Jazz Club with the Alan Wakeman Sextet.

He formed a duo with percussionist Paul Lytton in 1967-1971, playing in Britain, Denmark and France.

In 1973 he moved to Devon, joining the Lewis Riley Workshop Band in 1980, and becoming the sax player for the Lewis Riley Quartet from 1982 to the present.

Since the 1980s he has played for Jim and Mary Fulkerson’s Dance Alliance, The Barbican Jazz Band, the innovative Devon Ambling Band, Ugborough Small Band, Manteca, Parish Pump, Threeway Street, Dr. Wu! and currently with the Totnes Jazz Collective Big Band and Up Sticks.

Mick appears on albums by Lewis Riley, Threeway Street, Sam Richards and Up Sticks, and has gigged with Harry Beckett, John Etheridge, Dick Pearce and Jim Mullen. He has frequently appeared on radio and TV.
